My wife and I stayed here between Oct. 17-24, 2025 and stayed in the Jasmine unit. The Jasmine and Gardenia units are on the opposite side of the Westin Resort from the main part of the Marriotts. It takes about 15 minutes (exactly .54 miles) to walk from the condo unit to the beach. Supposedly there is a trolley cart which departs on a scheduled run during the day to get you to the main part of the resort. We hiked it while carrying our chairs etc. It didn’t help the arthritic backs for sure so we did the pool mainly, thus missing the entire point of going to a beach destination. In between the two units where we stayed is an outdoor hot tub, an outdoor pool with a slide (this is turned on for about 3 hours a day in October) and has attendants at the top and at the exit at poolside. You are required to be at least 4 foot tall to go on the slide. There is also a splash pad which is pretty cool for the kids (and adults) to play in, plenty of lounge chairs, a covered area with 6 propane BBQ grills, a foosball table, ping-pong table, and picknick tables. Near here is also a corn hole setup. There is also a bathroom area next to this and the pool. Parking is under each of the units. Behind the main club house are 4 other condo units closer to the beach and in-between each set are a pool and various other things to do and places to relax. The pool nearest the club house is a heated pool. The 2-bedroom units were nicely equipped, clean and comfortable with a balcony. Overall, this is a great resort and one we hope to go back to. There are a number of restaurants within minutes of the resort.

This is our third trip to Barony and we can’t wait to plan our fourth! If you are looking for a beachfront resort with endless amounts of activities; beautiful and spacious rooms; and a family-friendly atmosphere, look no further! The top 4 things we love about Barony are: 1. Location: This resort is broken into 3 sections of oceanfront, courtyard, and garden. Between the courtyard and garden is The Westin (you cross over the Westin driveway when going between sections). The furthest from the beach is the garden section, but it is still only an 8 minute leisurely walk to the beach. Barony is located in the area of HHI called Port Royal. It has a ton of biking/walking trails and is in a quiet section of hhi. Walmart is just a few miles down the street for groceries and there are plenty of restaurants and activities nearby. 2. Activities: The activities and the people who run them are the BEST! Most activities are complimentary and a few have a minimal cost. The activities that we enjoyed this time were: water aerobics; wine and cheese event; daily front porch social hour drink; bingo; trivia; coke and peanuts social; local beer tasting; s’mores; Oreos; popcorn tasting; and pop tarts and playdoh. Joey is always running around making sure everyone is included and happy and he always has a smile on his face. Joey is an asset to Barony! We can’t wait to see you next year! If you get the chance to do water aerobics with Martha (she is usually there a couple days a week), you must go! She is by far the best water aerobics instructor I have ever had. Hannah did a great job making sure everyone stayed active and ran the exercise programs during the week. She will definitely get you moving! There were several others who always had smiles on their faces and you always felt welcome. 3. Rooms/accommodations: Once you stay at a Marriott Vacation Club (MVC) property, you will never want to stay in a regular hotel room again. The rooms are over 1300 sq ft; have 2 bedrooms; 2 bathrooms; a full kitchen; a dining area; a laundry room/closet; 3 TVs; and a nice size balcony. The rooms sleep 8 people and there is plenty of room to spread out. The rooms are well-decorated and well-maintained. You truly couldn’t ask for more! 4. The resort itself: Barony has 3 outdoor pools and 1 indoor pool. It also has a splash pad and a water slide at the pool in the garden area. There are grills throughout the resort and plenty of swings; cornhole; shuffleboard; ping pong; and fire pits. The grounds are well-maintained and we absolutely love being right on the beach. Definitely give Barony a try- I promise you will love it!

The Barony Beach Club was a great experience. It had a nice unit layout, was clean, and everything was in great condition. The experience was super at the pools and at the beach. Nice bike trails with easy rental. We flew into Savannah/HH airport and rented an SUV. A vehicle seems necessary to get around the island conveniently and quickly. Michael Anthony's Italian restaurant was outstanding.

Loved this ocean front resort. We had an oceanfront corner villa in Sea Oat building. Everything we needed to a fun trip with daughter's family. The fitness team was great. Martha and Hannah are good instructors. We did Aquafit every morning. Lots of participants for a fun workout. Grandkids loved the reptile program bubbles and juggling and morning cereal and pop tarts. Adults enjoyed happy hour and gym. We vacation a lot. This was a lovely place will be on repeat for sure. If you were in the garden buildings or didnt have an ocean view you might not enjoy it ss much.

The resort itself was great. It had beautifully maintained grounds, modern accommodations, and nice views that make for a truly relaxing atmosphere. We stayed in 9428 in the Morning Glory building and had no issues with parking, elevators, and it was in good proximity to the pool/beach. The rooms were spacious, clean, and well-designed, offering all of what you need to make meals, do laundry, etc. I was surprised there was no baking sheet, but we made it work. The resort was family friendly and had normal activities (bingo, movies, etc). We went to the caramel apple bar, which was really sliced apples and toppings and attempted to get ice cream sundaes (freezer malfunctioned ‍♀️). Unfortunately, the overall experience was dampened by the staff. From check-in to check out, the service felt cold and impersonal. There was a noticeable lack of warmth or hospitality. A resort of this caliber should come with friendly, attentive service, and that just wasn’t the case during our stay. Simply saying “Welcome” or “How did you enjoy your stay?” should be standard at the front desk. Twice my daughters and I passed a desk near the spa where 5 employees stood and not one spoke. We checked out on my birthday and I called to ask for a late checkout (at least an additional hour) and was told they couldn’t accommodate that. I could attribute the service to the lack of diversity (I’m African American), but I try not to jump to conclusions. My family had a nice stay overall. WiFi worked well and Netflix was on all of the TVs. The beach and pools were great and never felt overcrowded. We cooked some meals in the villa and tried some nearby restaurants. There were plenty of stores for groceries/shopping and an outlet is minutes away. If you’re simply looking to enjoy beautiful surroundings and don’t mind limited engagement from staff, Marriott Barony Beach could be a nice option.

Our unit was a two bedroom unit with two bathrooms, a kitchen, and a living room. There was a washer and a dryer in the unit which was nice. We were assigned a garden building which overlooked the garden pool but was about a 20 minute walk from the beach and a little far for three children under 5 to go back and forth during the day. There were lots of activities and we participated in ceramic painting, saw the magic show, and attended a bourbon tasting by a local brewery. We also played shuffleboard, ping pong, foosball, and utilized the water slide and the splash pad. Our only complaint was the kitchen utensils, plastic spatula and no baking sheet. We checked out a grill kit from the front desk. It did not have a metal spatula either. Trying to cook hamburgers on the outdoor grill was interesting. We found a metal spatula at a local dollar store for $1.25. The room only had five plates so we were doing dishes daily. Overall it was a good stay with nice facilities. Staff was friendly and helpful.

After having several not great experiences the last few times we used our MVC, Barony Beach absolutely renewed our faith! We could not have asked for a better experience from start to finish. We came down for our school vacation week with our 8 and 6 year old and my 71 year old mother. It was the off season so definitely quieter and the weather while cold only rained one day. The activities team was amazing from start to finish and had something for every age group. Mercedes and Joey made it a point to try and get to know each guest and had such a wonderful energy each day. Everyone found several things they wanted to do each day. From Bingo to crafts and games and cookies and smores and the indoor pool. Our kids never complained they were bored. The rum tasting was so well done for adults, but my kids favorite was the raptors experience! The woman brought several owls and birds and the kids learned all about them while seeing them up close. They could not stop talking about it and she was wonderful with all the kids there. Everything we had at the restaurant y’all’s was fantastic. Todd was amazing and provided such great recommendations and experience each time we went in. Drinks were great and made fun non alcoholic drinks for the kids. We have stayed at MVC pretty much exclusively on vacations and this is the first resort every single person we came across from check in to activity and service was fantastic. We can not say enough great things about the staff at this resort. Rooms were clean and we heard very minimal noise from construction. They were great at communicating exactly where and when that would be happening so you can plan and none was happening before 9:30. Hilton Head is beautiful with fantastic walking and biking trails. We would absolutely return to the island and resort!

First off, let’s start with the positives. This place has obviously been remodeled recently, and unlike some remodels, it was very well done and looks great! However, like many Marriott vacation club villas we’ve stayed in, there were some mechanical and maintenance issues. Both of the bedroom fans would buzz incessantly when turned on above the lowest level, making them almost unusable. The central air conditioning had something loose in either the the ductwork or the vent that caused a noticeable rattling sound that was very annoying. But to give credit where it is due, the maintenance guy Eduardo came into the villa and fixed everything - he was especially courteous and was very prompt - well done Eduardo! The outside pool was nasty - my wife and son found a woman’s sanitary pad floating in the deep end near the slide. That was very off-putting. There was a fair amount of debris at the bottom of the pool as well.
